Performance of 5454 Aluminum Plate:
5454 aluminum plate is also an alloy with strong rust resistance, belonging to the 5 series Al-Mg alloy. 5454 aluminum plate with Mg content between 2.4-3.0% by weight. Similarly, 5454 aluminum plate strength needs to be strengthened by cold working, but it is 20% higher than the moderate strength of the 5052 aluminum sheet. In addition, 5454 aluminum properties is similar to 5154 aluminum. However, the corrosion resistance of 5454 aluminum sheet is better than that of 5154 aluminum. Therefore, we often see the 5454 aluminum plate in the environment with high requirements for rust resistance, such as marine facilities pipeline, aluminum tank car body, automobile wheels, etc.
Most notably, 5454 aluminum coil is the preferred alloy choice for storing hot liquids, making up the shortage of heat – resistance of 5083 aluminum alloy for tank material. So, 5454 aluminum plate is currently used for tank, dry bulk trailers, dump bodies, presure siren, welded structures,etc, which have been favored by the market.

Applications of 5454 Aluminum Plate:
1) 5454 Aluminum Plate for Tank Car Body:
Tank car is a tank shaped transport vehicle, used to transport a variety of liquids, liquefied gases and powdered goods. Therefore, according 5454 aluminum sheet has excellent corrosion resistance to chemical, industrial atmosphere and other media, 5454-h111 aluminum sheet is very suitable for the manufacture of tank car body. The commonly used thickness of 5, 6, 7, 8mm, width is less than 2.2 meters, the length is generally within 12.5 meters. 5-6mm 5454-H32/H111 aluminum plate can be used for tank body; 7-7.2mm 5454-O aluminum plate can be used for tankers head; 5-6 mm 5454-O aluminum plate can be used for wash board.
