316L Stainless Steel Seamless Tube Overview:
316L stainless steel seamless tube with 0.03% carbon maximum resembles 316 except for its extra-low carbon. With the addition of molybdenum, grade 316L stainless steel were developed to offer improved corrosion resistance compared to alloy 304/L. The increased performance of this austenitic chromium-nickel stainless steel makes it better suited for environments rich in salt air and chloride. Additionally, the low carbon content makes the alloy 316L easy to weld.
316L stainless steel seamless tube is the tube made from stainless steel bar perforated and then cold rolled or cold drawn. Compared with welded stainless steel pipe, seamless pipe has a flat surface, uniform metallographic organization, and much higher corrosion resistance and pressure and high temperature resistance than welded pipe because there is no welded seam. However, the price of 316L stainless steel seamless tube is usually higher and the delivery time is slower than that of 316L stainless steel welded tube.

316L Stainless Steel Seamless Tube Industry Applications:
1. Aerospace: In the aerospace industry, 316L tubing can be found in jet engine parts where it is valued for its corrosion resistance.
2. Chemical Process: 316L tubing is the preferred material for cooling coils for most chemical processing applications.
3. Fabrication: 316L stainless steel offers additional corrosion resistance due to the addition of molybdenum. In fabrication applications, the alloy is commonly used for instrumentation and hydraulic tubing because of its more reliable performance compared to 304/L.
4. High Purity: In (EP) electropolished or oxygen (O2) cleaned conditions found in high purity environments, 316/L is used in semiconductor fabrication and high performance liquid chromatography, which keeps systems free of pollutants.
5. Marine: 316/L tubing is used in instrumentation and hydraulic applications on board vessels due to its corrosion resistance in seawater spray environments in the marine industry.
6. Oil & Gas: While omnipresent in instrumentation and control, 316/L is also used in many oil and gas applications: crude distillation with naphthenic acids and sulfur and control and injection lines.
7. Power Generation: Due to its corrosion and heat resistance properties, 316/L is used in power generation industry applications such as hydroelectric power generation, dam gates, and sluice gates.
8. Pulp & Paper: Compared to 304/L, 316/L tubing has a higher resistance to microbiologically influenced corrosion, making it a standard for fiber recycling processes in the pulp and paper industry
